After months of APRA requests and a formal complaint to the Indiana Public Access Counselor – which resulted in a ruling that said: “to deny a request for a board packet from a public meeting in its entirety runs contrary to any reasonable interpretation of the access laws” – the school board changed their policy on March 7, 2022 and has begun to share the board packet after the meeting. This is a good step forward, but the school board needs to publicly share the packet before the meeting and then seek public input before voting.
